In Cederberg, 170 people participated in this study. They had parents and grandparents who were also from Cederberg. Their genetic ancestry results can be representative of all the people of Cederberg.
The average person in Cederberg has ancestry from 4-5 groups. Most of their ancestors, that is 40%, come from a Khoe-San group. 30% of their ancestors are European, 12.5% are from West Africa, and 17.5% are from South Asia.
This is the same things as having a father who is 40% European, 25% West African and 35% South Asian and a mother who is 80% Khoe-San and 20% European
