Upington
The Henn Lab has been conducting research in Upington since 2017. We are thrilled to return our research findings to the community of Upington. Below you will find the average ancestry of an individual we sampled from Upington and a more detailed perspective of the Khoe-San and West African genetic compositions of people from Upington.
Bantu-speakers migrated from western Africa into other regions of Africa. For example, the Tswana expanded into the Kalahari only about 400 years ago. Here we have compiled the the similarities between the West African Ancestry of people in Upington and other towns within South Africa.
