In Pella, 45 people participated in this study. They had parents and grandparents who were also from Pella. Their genetic ancestry results can be representative of all the people of Pella.
The average person in Pella has ancestry from 4-5 groups. Most of their ancestors, that is 50%, come from a Khoe-San group. 25% of their ancestors are European, 20% are from West Africa, and 5% are from South Asia.
This is the same as having a father who is 75% Khoe-San, 10% South Asian and 15% West African and a Mother who is 25% Khoe-San, 25% West African, and 50% European.
