In the ≠Khomani-San, 113 people participated in this study. They had parents and grandparents who were also ≠Khomani-San. Their genetic ancestry results can be representative of all the ≠Khomani-San people.
The average ≠Khomani-San person has ancestry from 4 groups. Most of their ancestors, that is 84%, come from a Khoe-San group. 7% of their ancestors are European, 7.5% are from West Africa, and 1.5% are from South Asia.
This is the same as having a father who is 75% Khoe-San, 10% South Asian and 15% West African and a Mother who is 25% Khoe-San, 25% West African, and 50% European.
